Employee Benefits
Nantucket Cottage Hospital is please to offer the following
benefits to employees who hold positions of 20 hours
per week or more that are budgeted as regular full-time
or regular part-time positions. Benefits are prorated
for positions that are less than 40 hours per week.
In addition, the Hospital employs other individuals who are not eligible to participate
in the Hospital's benefit plans and benefit accrual programs, including the following:
Part-Time
Regularly scheduled to work less than twenty (20) hours
per week.
Per Diem
Called in to work as needed, or in accordance with department
per diem status requirements.
Temporary
Regularly scheduled to work for a specified period of
time, generally not to exceed nine (9) months, or as
otherwise provided in any applicable Union Contract.
General
Eligible employees at the Hospital are provided with
a wide range of benefits. A number of the programs
(such as Social Security, workers' compensation, and
unemployment insurance) cover all employees in the
manner prescribed by law. Some benefit programs require
contributions from employees, and others are fully
paid by the Hospital. In addition, some benefits require
your status to be Regular Full-Time and Regular Part-Time
and have minimum scheduled hours per week for eligibility;
others are available to all employees, regardless of
hours worked or employee type.

Separate booklets that describe the various benefit plans
that are summarized only briefly in this section are
available from the Human Resources Department. The
actual provisions of each formal plan, policy or union
contract govern in determining eligibility for benefits,
benefit levels and all other matters.
