About The Foundation for
Nantucket Cottage Hospital

The Foundation for Nantucket Cottage Hospital is the island’s leading advocate for all issues related to the delivery of superior healthcare, access to advanced medical technology, and rapid coordination with world-renowned specialists in every field of medicine.  Incorporated in 2005, its mission is to provide resources for, promote the strategic growth of, and champion the excellence of Nantucket Cottage Hospital.

Through its Board and advisory committees and in collaboration with a portfolio of Project Partnerships, the Foundation links the hospital directly with leaders in business, government and philanthropy.

The Foundation provides an independent channel for charitable investment, working with its partners to develop and fund strategic projects that address the major challenges to providing Nantucket with the finest health care possible.

The Nantucket Cottage Hospital Foundation:

• Seeks to engage all stakeholders in the future health of Nantucket residents and visitors, in order to broaden recognition of the Hospital’s distinction in primary care, emergency care and access to medical specialists
• Aligns its priorities with the needs of island residents and visitors for superior medical care
• Identifies and engages with national and international partners, including  our affiliate, Massachusetts General Hospital, and other world-class institutions, on topical issues related to the provision of healthcare on Nantucket
• Raises private funds to support the strategic initiatives of the Hospital

The Foundation’s strategic objectives are to add private resources for the current expansion of the hospital and to identify future opportunities to strengthen our delivery of care.

The Foundation seeks revenue from such sources as annual solicitations, capital campaigns, grants from government and philanthropic organizations, and through entrepreneurial collaboration with business leaders committed to the hospital’s future.
