Volunteering for Events

The Hospital hosts four big events each year. They are our Native Reunion party in February, the Health Fair in May, our Pops on Nantucket concert on Jetties beach in August, and the Swing for Nantucket Cottage Hospital golf tournament in September. These events are staffed in large part by volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering for one or more of these events, please fill out our online event volunteer application.

Blue Coats

This volunteer program is for individuals interested in making a meaningful difference in our busy hospital, particularly in the peak season. Volunteers wearing blue smocks meet and greet patients in the Emergency Department’s reception room, direct people to their appointments, register them for surgeries and provide administrative assistance and any other service possible. The program has proven to be very successful and productive for the Hospital, as well as rewarding for the volunteers. Orientation for the Blue Coat program occurs once a year, in the spring, and there is currently a waiting list to join.

Hospital Departments

Some of our individual departments are very grateful to have volunteer assistance, particularly during the busy summer months.

Community Relations & Development

This is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in learning more about non profit work, special events and office coordination. Individuals are needed to assist in this busy office with administrative duties, such as data management, organizing, filing and telephone coverage. College interns are welcome.
