Organ Donation

Nantucket Cottage Hospital supports The New England Organ Bank ( www.NEOB.org) , an independent non-profit agency whose mission is to recover, preserve, and distribute human organs and tissues for transplantation.

Each year, thousands of organ transplants are performed in U.S. transplant centers, saving and altering many lives. None of this is possible without the gift of life - the donation of organs and tissues for those who desperately need them.

Donating organs and tissues affords the donor the opportunity to give life and health to someone else. Becoming an organ donor is as simple as signing a donor card and telling your family. If you change your mind, you can simply destroy the card and inform your family that your wishes have changed.
